We provide a range of activities and opportunities within local bases and in the community, for vulnerable adults.

What does the day service do?

We provide a range of activities and opportunities within local bases and in the community, for vulnerable adults.

Services are based in Beverley, Bridlington, Goole, Withernsea, Hessle, Brough, Pocklington, Driffield, Hornsea and Hedon.

We work closely with many agencies and partners to ensure services remain person centred.

What types of volunteering roles are available within day services?

All services are very diverse you may get the opportunity to work along side people with:

  • Older people
  • Learning disabilities
  • Autism
  • Dementia
  • Physical disabilities

Supporting with activities such as:

  • Swimming
  • Horse riding
  • Bowling
  • Arts, craft
  • IT

There are many other volunteering opportunities within the programmes of activities we provide.

What are the basic requirements to volunteer for the day service?

  • To have a basic understanding of the needs of vulnerable people.
  • Reliability and commitment
  • Good communication skills
  • Empathy
  • A willingness to learn and share skills
  • You will be expected work within the groups assisting members of staff to support participation in activities
  • Clear CRB and two appropriate references

What is the timescale for volunteering with the day service?

Day services are open Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 4pm approximately. Opportunities will be available daily within these hours.

Is there training available?

There will be an induction for volunteers delivered by an assigned mentor, this will include:

  • Role of the volunteer
  • Policies and procedures
  • Confidentiality
  • Health and Safety
  • Expenses
  • Equal opportunities and diversity
