Description:

Rectangular metal plaque for the 1938 'Empire Exhibition Scottish rally'. Lettering at top, with date flanking the cross of St. Andrew in centre (blue enamel background). Large thistle down either side, at the base of each a rectangle containing a lion, in red enamel, and in the centre a tower - labelled as 'Tower of Empire'. Maker's mark engraved on back, which is otherwise plain. Pierced with rivet holes at corners for attachment. Part of collection donated by Amy Johnson's father in October 1958.
