Stuffed Common Gull (Larus canus). Unmounted. Present all year round, but only common in NW Ireland and Scotland. Many birds migrate in from Europe for the winter. It is found around inland waters as well as on coasts. It can be distinguished from the larger Herring Gull by its dark eye and yellow-green bill. The Common Gull's diet can include insects, crustaceans, worms, beach refuse, birds eggs and even small mamals or birds.
