Two stuffed Golden Plovers (Pluvialis apricaria). The Plover is a wading bird, which breeds on high upland moors during the summer. Golden Plovers from Iceland and Scandinavia come to southern Britain in large numbers during the winter, feeding on insects and worms. The male's summer plumage consists of a handsome gold speckling on its upper parts.
