The Rev. 'Bill' Griffith played for Beverley RUFC 1927-29 while curate at the Beverley Minster. He was the vicar of St. John's Drypool, Hull before the Second World War. Later he was vicar of Hutton Rudby, Aldborough, near Boughbridge, St.Columba's, Scarborough and St. Olave's York. He died in a Sunderland nursing home in March 1986, aged 87
