Deal box with single tray containing compartments for pens and ink bottle. Lid has 3 sockets for wooden bars to keep envelopes in place. Brass hinges for lid and lock. Base stained with ink. Belonged to donor's grand father, Mr. J. Longley of Jacksonville, Goole. and used by him while at sea.
