Rim sherd from watching brief at Bankburn Farm, Sand Lane, Wilberfoss, in 1996, (grid ref: SE7565 5030). Dipped white ware. Red fabric with a yellowish glaze on the inside, the rim comes from a pancheon (food preparation bowl) and dates to the 18th - early 20th centuries (probably nearer the latter).
