Spong's bean slicer (model 632), made in England. Steel, painted green, with screw clamp to attach to work surface and a wooden turning handle. In original cardboard box, with instruction sheet. From group of material belonging to the late Mrs. Olive Lelke (donor's mother-in-law), of Hornsea. She was born in Aldbrough in 1916, her father was in the army and her grandfather was a publican in various locations. She worked as a nursing sister at Broadgates psychiatric hospital in Beverley and lived in Hornsea in later life.
