Description:
Five-bay, two-storey square main block, brick with hipped slate roof, linked by connecting walls to lower pavilions on each side. A large chapel added in the 1820s was demolished as part of the 1950s restoration. Architects & Craftsmen: Attributed to Thomas Atkinson. The house was remodelled in 1957-60 by Francis Johnson. A plan for landscaping the grounds was provided by Thomas White in 1768.
