The hall has undergone many changes. On the east front the recessed central three-storey red-brick block is of c. 1710. The ground floor of this handsome five-bay brick range, with stone quoins and other details, was projected forwards sometime after 1928 to accommodate the school dining hall, It is flanked by cross wings from the 17th-century house. The west elevations of the cross wings have shaped gables of the mid 1920s. It was built in the 17th century with addition of c. 1710 and later alterations.
