A most attractive Jacobean mansion built of stone, almost certainly from Kirkham Priory. The splendid two-storey seven-bay south front has large mullion and transom windows throughout with full-height canted bays to either end. The entrance bay projects with paired Ionic columns flanking the doorway and paired Corinthian columns above. Late 18th-century stable block. Architects & Craftsmen: Not known, but in the style of Robert Smythson. Internal remodellng and stable block of c. 1775 attributed to John Carr.
