Description:
Copper alloy brooch, cruciform in shape, green patina, lower part of brooch obscured by concretion of cubic salts, pitted surface. The square head has a row of chevron like decoration incised around the edge and a central boss with concentric rings. Excavation: Sewerby, Anglian Cemetery, Home Farm, 1959, 1974. Grave 12, find nr 4, AML nr 590179. See also 1993.1454 which has some similarities in decoration.
