Description:

Gold and garnet, semi circular pendant, with loop and granulation (beading) on edges. Dates to the 6th/7th century AD. Found by cliffs at Ulrome. Garnet is a semi-precious stone which was much used by the Saxons in their jewellery. Sources include Afghanistan and India.
