Copper alloy, cruciform brooch with mass of ferrous salts on reverse side, pale green patina. Dates to 5th/6th century AD. This type of brooch was often worn in pairs, one on each shoulder. From the excavation at the Anglian cemetery, grave 12, find nr 3, Home Farm, Sewerby. AML nr 590180.
