Description:
Part of a deer antler beam with three tines at one end, all the ends of the tines worn. A small box of antler fragments labelled as being from trench c, may be connected. Also envelopes containing rodent teeth and bones. Excavation: Willerby Wold Long Barrow (TA 029 761). Excavated by Terry Manby in 1958-60, the roughly trapezoidal timber structure had a timber post facade at the east end and was covered with an earth/chalk mound. Radio carbon dated to around 3000BC.
