Title: Anglo-Saxon skull fragments

Description:

Bag of human jaw bone and other fragments. Found in Hull Museum stores and later transferred to East Riding. Precise provenance unknown, but possibly from Sewerby and possibly belong with skull 2004.4.1 A piece of paper with the finds reads "Sewerby, Yorks. Saxon". It is possible that this is the skull of the woman buried in Grave 41 (the famous "live" burial) at Sewerby Anglian cemetery, excavated in 1959, which became separated from the rest of her remains (see 1996.16) during post excavation research and conservation.
