The wedding of John Hobson and Annie Tiplady. To the left of John is his mother Edith (seated) and father John (standing, left of Edith). The marriage took place during the First World War. John was the youngest son of John and Edith Hobson. He and his two brothers established a firm of plumbers and decorators in Hornsea. Annie was the daughter of an agricultural worker and one of a large family from Southgate, Hornsea. She was a skilled dressmaker and before her marriage to John Hobson she ran a successful small business. She was born on July 31st 1884, and lived to the age of 104 years.
