Title: Copper alloy mount

Description:

Copper alloy mount, square at one end, with raised triangular section (point towards the end), The object is a narrow rectangle overall, the sides swelling outwards fromthe square end to about the mid point before curving back in again and then currving back out to the flat ended foot. The upper surface, slightly convex in parts, is decorated with two incised trefoils, grooves and dots and there are traces of gilding(?) on some of the decorated areas. Flat underside. No obvious means of attachment. Part of metal detecting collection belonging to the late Terry Britten.
