Title: Bone handled knife
Item Name: Food Preparation and Consumption

Description:

A bone-handled, iron knife. The handles, decorated with incised lines and chequered patterns, is in two sections, rivetted through the iron tang. Perhaps 17th or 18th century. Found by the late Philip Meldrum (born in Hull), who lived at Rise Cottage, Grindale, opposite a field containing a Medieval settlement. These items were field walked from fields in the area.
