Fossilised Plesiosaur vertebrae. Grey, concave sides, in two pieces; each side showing cellular structure of bone. From Speeton Clay. Plesiosaurs were large, sea-dwelling reptiles of the Mesozoic period (about 248-66 million years ago). They had long necks and had paddles for swimming.
