Equipment used in the bateriological diagnosis of diptheria. Brown card box containing a label addressed to Public Health Lab, Wakefield. Unused form and glass tube with wooden wand with cotton wool on the end. The wand is inserted into a cork to seal the tube. Donated with some old medical records when the Goole Hospital left the old building St. Johns Hospital on Boothferry Road (1839 Union Workhouse) to move to a purpose built site in 1988. The records were moved to County Archives Service in Beverley.
