Box of black/white photographs, transparencies, slides and negatives relating to tourism in Bridlington, Sewerby, Flamborough etc in the late 1940's to the early 1980's. Much of it was produced by the local authority's tourism staff in order to try and attract visitors to the area. Subjects covered include Bridlington beaches (sand castle making, donkey rides, posed groups in swimwear playing with balls etc), general views of the harbour and promenades, the Old Town, the Bayle Gate and Priory church, events at the Spa Theatre (e.g. wrestling, dancing, beauty contests, comedy acts), images of Sewerby Hall and gardens, local hotels, other leisure facilities such as bowling greens and the boating pond and images of various outside events like a classic car rally and the Lions Carnhival (1946).
