Aliens order 1920, a Certificate of Registration for Yulia Turkalo, issued at Pocklington in 1948, with various stamps and endorsements down to 1960. She arrived as part of the post war E.V.W. (European Volunteer Workers') scheme, which brought many thousands of East Europeans to Britain after World War II due to labour shortagers in this country. The document notes that she was initially at the E.V.W. camp at Full Sutton, East Yorkshire.
