Description:

Hand written on vellum with tag and red wax seal. An indenture dated 18th March 1638 between Sir Thomas Metham and Thomas Vincent, leasing land in the Airmyn area. Metham was a famous Royalist soldier, who commanded the Yorkshire Gentleman Volunteers during the English Civil War. He was killed at the battle of Marston Moor in 1644.
