Item Name: Manufacture and Processing

Description:

Grey flint 'tortoise' core, covered with iron staining, large patches of cortex at one end and side. Flaked on both sides. A surface find from near Sewerby Steps (grid reference TA203687), about 100 yards east of the pre glacial cliff. Possibly disturbed during building work. Middle Palaeolithic date.
