Nodule of Steatite - a massive variety of Talc. From Cornwall, 11/9/1963. Part of the T.H. Riley collection, transferred from Doncaster Museum in 1963. Talc is white, grey or pale green in colour, often stained red. It is extremely soft and has a soap-like feel to it.
