Description:
Supposed portrait of Reverend Robert Fisher and his wife, Charlotte, seated in their living room. The vicar is writing at a table, his wife is knitting. Vases and pictures on mantlepiece and wall behind them. Reverend Fisher married Charlotte Fanny Holmes in 1875 and was vicar of Sewerby from 1877-1898 and vicar of St. Mary's, Beverley from 1898-1905. Fisher wrote several books on plants, flowers and Yorkshire villages. He also had a keen interest in history, fishing and chess. He died in Whitby in 1933. Gilt wood frame.
