The subject is Isabella Fitzroy (nee Bennet), the Duchess of Grafton. Produced by I. Smith, after a work by Sir Godfrey Kneller Bt. Kneller (1646-1723) was born in Germany, but lived in England from 1676 and worked as a court painter under four monarchs.
