View along a garden path to a stone building, the entrance part has a brick arch. The building has a pitched tile roof. The Dominican Friary was founded pre 1240, and was rebuilt around 1450 following a fire. After the Dissolution of the monasteries (1539), it was in private hands. In the 19th century it was divided into three dwellings. Briefly threatened with demolition in the 1960's, in 1974 it was restored and the building opened as a Youth Hostel in 1980. Originally, these buildings may have functioned as the library and dormitory of the friary. They date to around 1450. Card mount. Marked L70 H.
