The medallions depict: Flora and Zephyrus scattering Flowers (Spring); Bacchus presenting grape juice to his subjects (Summer); Bacchus and Ceres - who is represented by a sheaf of corn (Autumn) and Silenus seated by a fire with the young Bacchus collecting wood from the stump of a decayed tree (Winter).
