'Lifeboat at Bridlington launching to rescue the Luna of Amsterdam in a gale on October 29, 1919. They were successful in bringing 4 men and a cat ashore. The horse marked with a cross stumbled and fell as they turned to ashore with carriage. The driver managed to keep his seat and pull the horse up again. The white one behind pranced with fright. They get so frightened in facing such waves, they have to be whipped and made to go on, it is dangerous work, one gets so interested watching, you forget to feel frightened for them.'
