Title: Bridlington Lifeboat
Item Name: Sea and Shipping

Description:

Bridlington lifeboat preparing to go to the rescue of Dutch vessel Luna 1st of Amsterdam during gale of 29th October 1919. Men donning oilskins, etc., while waiting for horses. Mrs Coates and I (or J?) were on lower parade and just underneath are Rich (Turner) and another young man, but too small and indistinct to see, with such a gale blowing, wonderful to get them and until one saw the lifeboat going through the breakers, and seemingly swallowed up in the trough of the wave, you could not realise how high they were.'
