Description:
Silver life saving medal, awarded posthumously to Christopher ("Kit") Brown. On obverse: Victoria facing left, laurel wreath in hair. Legend - VICTORIA, PATRONESS. ROYAL NATIONAL LIFEBOAT INSTITUTION, FOUNDED IN 1824, INCORPORATED 1860. Medallists name under portrait - L.C. WYON. 'Christopher Brown voted 14th December 1893' on the edge of the medal. On reverse: Men in boat rescuing a man from the sea. Mount in the form of two dolphins facing on top of the medal. Blue cloth ribbon. Awarded posthumously to Christopher Brown for his part in saving the crew from the schooner 'Victoria' on 19th November 1893.
