A Pacific Lettered Cone shell (Conus Litteratus), from the Indian / Pacific Ocean. White and pale pink with rows of dark brown to black spots. Part of the Pamplin shell collection. Cone shells are large and colourful and are found on coral reefs. They trap their prey by firing a poisoned dart into it. The poison of some types of cone shell can be lethal to humans.
