A Soldier Cone shell (Conus Miles), from the Indian / Pacific Ocean. White and dark brown with orange streaks. Part of the Pamplin shell collection. Cone shells are large and colourful and are found on coral reefs. They trap their prey by firing a poisoned dart into it. The poison of some types of cone shell can be lethal to humans.
