Copper token. Obverse monogrammed letters BVC. Wine bottle in centre, rose on one side and thistle on the other. Reverse: Saw tooth pattern as border. Latin motto [N]EMO...IMPUNE LACESSIT' (no one provokes me with impunity). Central legend 'B...NT ISLAND VITROL COMPY 1787'. The vitriol works was at Burnt island, Lammerlaws, Fife and existed from the 1790's through to the 1830's.
