Description:

One silver Edward VII sixpence dated 1909. Part of a hoard of gold and silver coins deposited in about 1796 and discovered in Kirkgate, Bridlington in 1922. Half of the hoard was bought by the Bridlington Corporation and later transferred to Sewerby Hall as part of the Museum Service's collections. The other half was bought by the Bayle Museum. Four coins were retained by the British Museum.
