Description:

Russian lead sack/bag seal from St. Petersburg, with cyrillic lettering on both sides. Transliteration (obverse) - *PD SPK 12K 1790. Reverse - [.]L YE[..] ONINE N76. Such seals were applied to Russian flax/hemp sacks in the late 18th/early 19th centuries as part of the customs process when exporting goods through Baltic sea ports. Part of metal detecting collection belonging to the late Terry Britten.
