Archive from watching brief by Humber Field Archaeology at Bridge Bran Lodge, Middleton on the wolds on 19/02/03 to 27/02/03 (Grid reference SE 9454 4946). The work was associated with the development of a new dwelling and garage south of Bridge Bran Lodge.The excavation of the foundation trench systems for the bungalow and garage revealed a sequence of probable late Bronze Age archaeological deposits. These were in the form of ditches, pits and postholes underlying the hillside top- and subsoils. Small flint artefacts associated with the archaeological features were recovered. Their type and form indicate manufacture in the Bronze Age and later periods.
