Description:
Copper alloy knife, dating to the Bronze Age. Narrow leaf-shaped form, with double cutting edges, tapering towards the point (which is damaged). Lentoidal cross section, with a series of shallow fullers (channels) running the length of the blade. The rectangular tang is pierced by a circular hole near its end, for the attachment of a grip of some organic material. Dark green/black surface colour, with patches of the original bronze colouration showing through. Found during metal detecting in the Driffield area on about 17th April 2005.
