Toffee coloured brown flint with cortex, possibly a worked implement. A small irregularly bar-shaped chunk with (now) rounded ends. With broad flakes by hard hammer from its dorsal side and a nearly flat ventral surface. Long angled retouch executed from the dorsal aspect produced a curved surface at one end, and a negative hinge fracture on the dorsal side also provides a thumb rest which would permit pressure to be exerted on either end of the putative tool. Small chips arising on one long edge were however probably fortuitously formed by edge on impacts. Possibly Early Bronze Age, about 2350-1600BC. Found on the Humber foreshore, about 250m west of the Humber Bridge (grid reference TA 012255).
