2 reconstructed rim/upper body profiles of globular bowls/jars. Red brown fabric with grey interior. Locally made, early Neolithic, Grimston style. No.1 has a simple lip and smoothing on the neck only. No. 2 has an all over external finish and a well-made beaded rim. Based on comparisons with other sites, a date in the early 4th millenium BC is suggested. From pit 05, excavations/field walking at Pits Plantation, Rudston (centre on grid ref TA101667) in October/November, 1995.
