Bio:
A fellow of the Royal Photography Society and of the Institute of British Photographers. He was in his day considered to be one of the top six portrait photographers in the world. He owned a business called "Snaps" which stood near Bridlington Harbour at 18 Prince Street (currently the site is occupied by a second hand bookshop), another studio on the Promenade, as well as another store in Middlesborough. The "Snaps" studio was opened in 1919. His business employed eight photographers with an overnight film processing service, the photographs which Brigham himself took were very carefully composed. Using his easy going manner he kept up a constant stream of conversation with his customers. The studio was demolished in the early 1960's destroying hundreds of photographs in the process, although a few were saved by a local man who had worked for him some years earlier.
