LABC warranty and partner authority scheme.
Local authority building control (LABC) teams in England and Wales help people comply with the building regulations by giving feedback on plans and providing site inspections.
The local authority has a general duty to see that building work complies with the building regulations, unless it is under the control of an approved inspector. However, only local authorities have the power to enforce standards if things go wrong.
Individual local authorities coordinate their services regionally and nationally (and provide a range of national approval schemes) via an organisation called LABC.
Through our working arrangements with the LABC, we can offer a range of additional services and working arrangements to meet our clients’ needs, including the following:
LABC warranty works in partnership with Local Authority Building Control (LABC) to provide structural warranties for developers, contractors, housing associations and self-builders on new and recently completed buildings. Their partnership with LABC means we can provide building control and warranties throughout England and Wales using the combined technical expertise of over 3500 surveyors.
They work with some of the largest house builders, commercial contractors and developers in the country. Their policies are underwritten by ‘A’ rated global insurers, ensuring you and your buyers are protected for the duration of the policy. Their cover is also accepted by all leading UK mortgage lenders helping you and your buyers secure finance easily.
You can apply directly on the LABC warranty website.
The LABC’s partner authority scheme is open to small, medium and large enterprises.
All local authority building control teams in England and Wales are in the scheme. You can choose to work with one specific local authority, also known as a partner authority, as a single point of contact to undertake all the pre-application and design work – regardless of the project’s geographic location. This can be beneficial if you have multiple projects around England and Wales.
The LABC acknowledges excellence through their regional awards scheme. Previous winners in the East Riding of Yorkshire include:
