How does the council intend to spend its Better Deal for Buses funding allocation?

East Riding of Yorkshire Council received £228,454.00 from the Department for Transport’s Better Deal for Buses programme in May 2020. This funding allocation can be used for improving current supported bus services, restoring lost services and supporting new bus services or extensions to existing services. In order to claim the funding the Council submitted a Statement of Intent setting out how it proposed to use the allocated funds. The Council intends to use the funding for the following purposes in 2020 and 2021:

  • Support for, and enhancements to, two main bus corridors
  • Partial restoration of some town bus services withdrawn in 2018
  • Support for local parish and community-based transport provision

Notice of Intent to Prepare an Enhanced Partnership Plan and Schemes

16 June 2021

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has decided to proceed with the development of an Enhanced Partnership. The commencement of this is confirmed through this notice of the intention to prepare an Enhanced Partnership Plan and accompanying Enhanced Partnership Schemes, as required and set out in section 138F of the Transport Act 2000. The geographical area covered by the Enhanced Partnership will be the whole of the East Riding of Yorkshire.
