How do I find out about bus service disruptions?

You should check with your local bus operator before you start your journey. They may be able to advise you if there are any planned disruptions to your bus service. Get information about local bus companies from our bus timetables page.

Why do these disruptions happen?

There are sometimes disruptions to bus services which are outside the direct control of the council or the bus operator. These can happen at very short notice, for example, a road being closed by the Police following an accident. Where this happens bus operators will endeavour to operate as much of the normal route as possible, however, short diversions will need to be made to comply with instructions from the emergency services.

In the case of bad weather, again bus operators will endeavour to provide a normal service. However, some roads may become impassable and buses will need to take an alternative route. This position can change at very short notice and can vary throughout the East Riding. In cases of extreme weather, operators may suspend an entire service(s).
