Long Stay Car Park Permit

Information about parking permits for Long Stay Car Parks and Long Stay On-Street Pay and Display Parking areas, including where the permits are valid, and how to purchase or renew a permit.

What is a Long Stay Car Park Permit?

Long Stay Car Park Permits are valid in a number of the council’s long stay car parks and on-street parking areas, and mean that motorists are not required to purchase a Pay and Display ticket when parking in one of these locations.

Long Stay Car Park Permits are ideal for motorists who need to park regularly in a long stay Pay and Display location, as the permits work out significantly cheaper overall than purchasing a Pay and Display ticket several days a week.

Long Stay Car Park Permits can be purchased for one month, six months, or one year at a time.

In the East Riding, Blue Badge holders do not need to pay for parking on-street, but are required to pay for parking in all of our car parks.

Do I qualify for a Long Stay Car Park Permit?

Long Stay Car Park Permits can be used to park by cars, light vans and motorcycles; as long as all of the tyres on a vehicle fit within the boundary of a marked parking bay (in locations where bays are painted on the ground).

Motorcycles can park for free in designated motorcycle only parking bays, however these are not situated in all of the council’s Pay and Display locations. A permit (or Pay and Display ticket) must be obtained when parking a motorcycle in an ordinary Pay and Display parking place.

Where can I park with a Long Stay Car Park Permit and how much will this cost?

  • Long Stay Car Park Permits are available for Beverley, Bridlington, Driffield, Hornsea and Howden.

  • Bridlington has four different classes of permits, offering parking across different Pay and Display locations.

  • Long Stay Car Park Permits are not transferable between towns, or between permit classes in Bridlington.

From time to time, the council may need to suspend the use of a number of parking places for reasons such as to enable essential maintenance works to take place. Notices displayed adjacent to the affected parking places will advise motorists of the dates and times of the suspension – Long Stay Car Park Permits will not be valid in any affected parking places during these times, therefore permit holders should make alternative parking arrangements.
