Following the retirement of the current post holder, we are delighted to advertise this second-tier and crucial position reporting to the Director of Communities and Environment within our departmental management team.
We are seeking a Head of Infrastructure and Facilities to help us make the most from the opportunities which lie ahead, and deliver effective, cost efficient services over a large rural area, building on the council's achievements to date and further enhancing its reputation for delivering high performing services.
Infrastructure and Facilities covers all operational buildings, highways, civil engineering, flood defence, facilities management and property maintenance including council housing major repairs, and construction management. The service also operates the Council's in-house accommodation service providing cleaning and caretaking for over 200 premises. These services are highly valued by our residents and vital to providing the infrastructure in support of the local economy.
You will be responsible for the operational delivery of these services across 930 square miles, including income and expenditure, together with a £110m plus annual capital programme.
One of the key roles of a head of service is to lead the strategic management of the service and you will work with the Director of Communities and Environment to deliver the Council’s vision, ambitions and priorities for the East Riding. Your work will entail delivery for a multi-client constructed programmes comprising large building and civil engineering projects for community assets and partners e.g. new schools, leisure complexes, bridges, flood resilience schemes, highways projects with individual project values upwards of £60 million which require complex issues on funding, planning, technical programming and resourcing to be resolved.

Salary: £95,723 per annum + £3,885 car allowance
