Employment help in Bridlington

Explains what employment support is available as part of the Community Led Local Development (CLLD) funding in Bridlington and opportunities available for people aged 19 years plus who have been unemployed less than 2 years.

Do you offer any employment help specifically for people who live in Bridlington?

Yes, 'Brid Works' is a personalised programme that supports people aged 19 years and over to gain the skills required to move into employment, education or training.

Brid Works is delivered by the council’s employment education and skills team and is personalised to an individual’s needs. We deliver training from our Bridlington Adult Learning Centre.

It specifically helps people who:

  • are unemployed (less than 2 years)
  • aged 19 years or over.

Who can take part?

Brid Works is completely voluntary and to be eligible you need to be living in Bridlington.

At the point you join us you must be 19 years or over and be unemployed for less than 2 years. The programme is fully funded by the Community Led Local Development (CLLD)fund and is therefore free to people who join.

What are the benefits of taking part?

Brid Works is completely flexible and together we’ll decide how long you need to be with us, and what activities you need to take part in, to get the most out of your time with us.

You will be able to work with a Brid Works personal adviser. The adviser will meet with you and provide one to one support as well as opportunities to take part in a wide range of workshops and projects. They can include things like:

  • Employability workshops to deliver skills.
  • Taking part in business projects and team building exercises.
  • Supporting you to access work placements, work experience and volunteering opportunities.
  • Helping you with your personal appearance and budgeting.
  • Supporting you to access further education and training.
  • Working with local employers on your behalf.

It goes without saying that all of the support provided is confidential.

Where is it held?

You will meet with an adviser at our Bridlington Adult Learning Centre (insert link). Whilst remaining local venues may occasionally change during the programme so that they are appropriate and best suited to the discussions or activity being undertaken. These may include adult learning centres, community centres or libraries.

How much does it cost?

Brid Works is fully funded by the Community Led Local Development fund, so is completely free to you if you are 19 years or over and have been unemployed for less than two years.
