Help with getting a job

What help is available to get a job, who can access the service, where to contact the service and how to contact.

I'm looking for a job, what help is available?

Our employment education and skills team can offer all sorts of advice and support to help you get back into work. Whether you're 18 or 58, our team work closely with local employers to match your skills and experience to jobs available. On most of our programmes you'll come along to an initial meeting with us so that you can get the help that you need.

Depending on your circumstances you might be eligible for one or some of the programmes that we deliver - see below.

Current funded programmes that we deliver include:

  • Building Better Opportunities (BBO) - personalised support for people aged 25 and over to overcome barriers to getting employment, education or training.

  • Springboard - an employability programme for 16 - 24 year olds. Springboard provides young people with one to one mentor support, help searching for appropriate job vacancies, assistance to find training, access to help for job application and interview techniques and access to funding.

  • Careers advice - available to all adults over the age of 18 in England - in work, or out of work.

  • Wheels to Work - a moped and e-bike loan scheme to help people aged 16 years or older access jobs and training opportunities.
